Shubham is an Apache Lucene Committer and Software Engineer at Amazon Search, working on building and scaling the core search engine powering Amazon's product search. He joined Amazon in 2020 and has nearly 5 years of experience developing large-scale information retrieval systems. Shubham specializes in search engine internals and performance optimization, and recently helped enable vector search capabilities for Amazon's product search, tackling challenges in bringing this technology to millions of users worldwide. Passionate about open source, he actively contributes to the Apache Lucene community. In 2025, he relocated from Bangalore to Boston to continue working on cutting-edge search technology challenges.
